If I purchase a sauna from you, will you deliver and install it? How long does installation normally take and what is included?
✔️Of course! We deliver and install about 95% of the saunas we sell, so we can offer installation guarantees and direct product support.
🛠️Installations typically take one to three days, depending on size and difficulty.
🚚Delivery is FREE within the Denver Metro area, and we will deliver anywhere else in the great state of Colorado for a small delivery fee, whether or not installation is purchased.
🔌Installation includes sauna construction/assembly, heater set-up, initial heater commissioning, and any applicable module programming. Groundwork and electrical circuit and wiring work can be added on as well!
How do I prepare for Colorado Saunas to install my sauna?
🔨 How to Get Your Space Ready for Installation
We appreciate our customers being prepared! Completing the following steps ensures a smooth, timely, and fully warrantied installation:
1. Site Preparation
- Clearance & Access: Ensure the installation site is clear, level, and easily accessible for our crew and materials.
-
Foundation Requirement: Warranties on parts and labor are only activated if the sauna is installed on a finished, stable surface (e.g., a concrete pad, paved patio, or deck).
⚠️ Warranty Waiver: While Colorado Saunas may, upon site inspection, agree to install on bare or level ground, customers must waive all rights to warranties in this circumstance due to potential settling and moisture damage.
2. Technical Readiness
- Electrical: Have all necessary wiring, circuits, and outlets ready per Colorado Saunas' instructions and up to local code (if Colorado Saunas is not adding the circuit as part of the scope).
- Environment: Provide a safe work environment free from obstructions.
3. Permits & Approvals
- Obtain any required permits or HOA approvals (if you desire these approvals).
⭐ BIG HINT: Let Us Handle the Prep!
We offer full-service preparation to save you time and hassle. We work with professional landscapers who can build your finished pad, and we have a licensed Master Electrician on staff. Please ask us to provide a quote for electrical or groundwork services!
What are the warranties for my sauna and installation?
🛠️ Our Commitment to Service
We prioritize fast turnaround times by maintaining a substantial in-house inventory of common parts.
- Quick Repairs: If an issue arises, we often use our own stock to perform repairs immediately, accelerating the process while we handle the full warranty claim with the manufacturer.
- Manufacturer Parts: In cases where we need a missing or specialized part, we will order it directly from the manufacturer and provide you with a case-by-case timeline for completion.
✅ Installation Labor Warranty
We offer a two-week warranty on our installation labor. If any installation-related issue arises, please contact us within two weeks of your service date, and we will return free of charge to resolve the problem. Service requests submitted after the two-week mark may be subject to a standard service fee, but are handled on a case-by-case basis. Ultimately, we always make sure our customers are happy and satisfied.

What is the difference between Cedar and Thermo-Wood?
🪵Western Red Cedar
Cedar is naturally rot- and insect-resistant, but its raw cell structure absorbs and releases moisture as seasons change. Left untreated outdoors, it expands, contracts, and naturally weathers to a silvery-grey.
Maintenance Schedule & Tasks:
- Cleaning (1x per year):
- Wash the exterior with mild soap, warm water, and a soft-bristle brush.
- Avoid heavy pressure-washing, as cedar is a soft wood and high pressure can gouge or fray the wood fibers.
- Sealing (Every 1-2 years):
- Cedar requires periodic sealing to maintain its warm red/brown color and prevent natural graying.
- Use a breathable, UV-blocking, sauna-safe stain such as Livos.
-
Important: Only seal the exterior. Never apply stain, paint, or varnish to the interior walls.
- Checking & Tightening (Seasonal):
- Because cedar expands and shrinks with outdoor humidity, barrel saunas made of cedar will require you to tighten or loosen the metal bands 1–2 times a year as seasons shift.
🌲Thermo-Wood (Thermally Modified Wood)
Thermo-Wood is baked in special oxygen-deprived kilns at extreme temperatures (over 400°F / 200°C). This permanently changes its cellular structure, reducing its ability to absorb water by up to 50% and eliminating resin.
Maintenance Schedule & Tasks:
-
Cleaning (1x per year):
- Gently rinse the outside with water and brush away dust, pollen, or leaf debris.
- Because thermo-wood doesn't absorb moisture easily, mold and mildew struggle to take root on the surface compared to untreated cedar.
- Sealing (Optional / Every 2–4 years):
- Thermo-Wood is essentially structurally maintenance-free—it will not rot or warp even if you do zero sealing.
- However, sunlight (UV rays) will still turn untreated Thermo-Wood silver-grey over time. If you want to keep its deep, rich chocolate-brown color, apply a UV-protective exterior stain (such as Livos) every few years.
- Band Adjustments (Rare):
- Thanks to its exceptional dimensional stability, Thermo-Wood barely swells or shrinks. You will rarely need to adjust tension bands on a Thermo-Wood barrel sauna compared to a cedar build.
